To solve the brake friction problem, we started by designing the optimal aerodynamic shape, then set internal stiffness targets that fit with the desired frame stiffness. Even if overall lightness was one of the priorities, we mainly focused on aerodynamics.

With hours of computational fluid dynamics modeling and testing in the Win Tunnel, we have developed a novel shape that is optimized to work with the tire. The result is an all-carbon lenticular wheel which, on the side opposite the chain, has a shape as aerodynamic as possible and, on the side of the chain, as aerodynamic as the derailleur clearance allows.
